Test Results Samples for IDS Sleep Apnea Screening

More information on the ApneaLink Recording and Reporting Capability from Resmed:

This single channel, clinically-validated1, portable sleep-screening device uses a specially designed nasal cannula and
pressure transducer to measure flow. AHI, snoring and flow limitation measurements are automatically derived. A single-page report with a color-keyed "Risk Indicator" along with patient symptomology makes it easy to make an objective, simple determination whether the patient should be further evaluated for treatment of OSA with CPAP or other method, or if they should be referred to a Sleep lab for further evaluation.

You'll be able to detect those who have UARS (upper airway resistance syndrome), even when oxygen desaturations are not present, but significant sleep fragmention is.

1. Validation of microMESAM* as screening device for sleep-disordered breathing,Wang Y, Teschler T,Weinreich G, Hess S,Wessendorf TE, Teschler H., Pneumologie. 2003 Dec;57(12):734-40.

The Indexes Area averages per hour for events recorded during the evaluation period.

Results Area shows the cumulative totals of events recorded during the test

The Risk Indicator is a color coded indicator that shows the Apnea Hyponea Index and how it relates relatively to normal or sleep disordered breating.
