How IDS Works
- PHYSICIAN TEST ORDER: All oximetry tests begin with a physician test order. Before you begin testing, a physician sends an order on our simple form or pad script, directly to IDS via Fax or to your HME Company, which in turn faxes it to IDS. Our IDS order entry staff will review the order for completeness and legality, and enter the data electronically, triggering an email and web notification to you.
- HME TEST ORDER NOTIFICATION: You receive an email and an alert in your IDS web account that you have a new test order to be delivered. When you log in, you are given tools to review and edit the information entered by IDS, as well as the original order fax sent by the physician. You are also given links to automatically map the route to the patient's home with a single click! If you have not completed the test after a period of time, you will be sent email reminders!
- Deliver Oximetry Test Equipment, Instructions, and Forms: With 2 clicks in the IDS website, you can download and print automatically pre-filled forms, including Patient Instructions (with lots of easy to understand pictures!), Delivery Ticket, and a single page AOB/Release signature form. All of these forms are available in spanish as well! Carry these forms along with your oximeter to the patients home and drop off for overnight testing. IDS Provides 24hr Bi-lingual patient support! Sorry, CMS regulations DO NOT PERMIT at rest/exertion daytime testing by the HME for portable O2 Qualification.
- Pick up Oximeter, and the signed AOB/Release form: Return to your office. Fax the single page signed AOB/Medical Release form to IDS via the fax number listed at the bottom of the form.
- Upload the Oximeter: Login to your IDS web account, choose the appropriate test order, confirm that all the patient/insurance/physician information is correct, connect your oximeter directly to your PC via serial port, and upload the test for processing! Your mind can be at ease, because all transactions are encrypted from the moment they are transferred from the oximeter, and tamper proof! (per strict CMS regulations)
- Test Results: Test data is automatically validated and processed to remove artifact and very detailed test results. Test results, with your business name & address listed at the top, are faxed to the physician within minutes of upload, and available to you online within seconds, provided IDS allready has processed the signed AOB and Medical release form from step 4.
- NOTES: Patient's Insurance, or Medicare will be billed for the test within a few days by the IDS IDTF billing system. No insurance, or denied coverage? IDS only charges the patient $30!
- MORE NOTES: All tests must be uploaded & billed per federal anti-kickback laws. It is against the law to deliver a test, and get results via ANY means without the patient being charged. (this includes uploading tests to other software such as profox, Nvision, etc. without proper IDTF or Physician validation and billing)
- Receive your Oxygen Referral! - IDS provides additional tools to use in the future to easily manage Re-certifying patients that have allready qualified. No other system provides this capability!
Requirements for IDS Freedom
- OXIMETER: Respironics 920M,920M plus, Avant 9600 tabletop, Nonin 2500, 8500, 9600 Avant. Tell us what type you use!
- Upload/Download cable: Oximeter to Computer connection.
- Computer: Windows 2000, XP, or Newer Operating System
- Internet Connection and Browser: Internet Explorer 6 or newer required (FREE on Microsoft Windows Computers
- Email Address - Not Required, but needed to take full advantage of IDS notifications/reminders.
- Serial port on Computer- (pictured below). If you dont have one built in, you can get a USB adapter for less than $30 at most technology stores!
